| Belle, a Papillon and the smallest of our 6 dogs, got hit by a car Saturday night. Couldn't stand or walk. We made her comfortable, and K8 volunteered to stay with her round the clock to care for her. We took her to the Vet clinic Monday morning and found out she has a broken pelvis with accompanying internal swelling. |

| We declined the $2,000 surgery route, and opted for the low-cost but slower home-care plan. She is now on pain pills, antibiotics, and stool softener to help her mend, which will take about a month. K8 is in charge of her convalescence - should be good for earning the Pet Care merit badge! |

Wow, well the good news is that she gets to sleep inside and K8 can get a scout badge. Poor doggy!
