Holy smoke, Batman! Do we have enough carbon credits for this?

No, we did not set fire to the entire hillside. Yesterday, the boys and I burned several large brush piles that have been growing this year. We lite nine piles, but only seven burned. We'll ignite the last two today. The cows were curious and hung out with us for a while. 

I checked back on the "burn" an hour later. With the help of a gentle wind out of the northwest, the fire burned not only the piles of wood and brush, but all the dry grass, weeds, and poison ivy back to the stream, and a good portion to the right of where we started. I intend to do this all along the back of our fence line this winter, which will give us a few more acres of grass for the cattle to eat in future seasons.
