Help thy neighbor...

Last week was busy. In addition to our farm chores, we took care of our neighbor's farm chores while they were out of town for seven days. Fortunately, we had help from friends.

K2 was home on spring break, so we drafted him occasionally.

Two dairy cows needed to be milked twice a day, which the boys had to schedule around morning seminary class, Scouts, orchestra practice, and play practice for this month's production of "Alice in Wonderland".

We took our portable milk machine twice a day, after milking our own cow.

Lots of different animals needed feeding all around their farm.

Usually it was just me and K2 rolling out big bales of hay for the herd of beef cows, but one day we had help from K7 and K6.

Water had to be transported to various areas to fill water troughs for different animals.

Our daily crew met and went to work twice a day for about an hour and a half each session. Our friends got a lot of eggs and milk each day.

One day all the kids had to go find the herd of cows. Naturally, they found them at the furthest corner of the farm.
