Chloe the puppy

We found this cute little girl at sunset one evening three weeks ago. She came out of the grass along the frontage road headed for the highway. What were we supposed to do? Let her get run over? No way! We brought her home. Next few days we knocked on doors along frontage road - no one owned her. We took her to the Vet clinic - no one recognized her. Checked paper for weeks - no lost puppy ad.

She is very sweet and fit right in.

Even looks like the big dogs with whom she lived on same porch...well, at least the similar black and tan coloring. It was so cute to see her working her short little legs when trying to keep up with these 2 big giants when running around yard or out in the pasture.

She is a great pup, but we already have 4 dogs. We were all starting to think about keeping her, but finally found the right home for her. Our daughter K4 arrived for a visit with our grandchildren. Here she is in the arms of granddaughter L. Looks like a perfect fit! They named her Chloe and took her home.

I love happy endings.

  1. Chloe is a very cute puppy! Do you have any idea how old she is? Glad K4 found a good family dog. I hope we have an opportunity to have a dog some day. First things, first. Must have a home and yard before adopting a four legged friend.

  2. No idea on Chloe's age other than she is still a smallish puppy, and not a potty trained puppy either - first couple of nights she used the far west end of my front porch as a potty area. She soon learned to follow older dogs to the driveway or yard. She usually slept just off to the side of front door in Lilly's old padded bed (except for a few nights when Mom was on a road trip and someone smuggled her into the house. She and K8 slept on my bed one night and she never woke up or moved around. Chloe also has a puppy's delight in chewing on things, usually Tex's tail!

  3. Now she chases Jack's tail around the yard! Hahaha! Makes me laugh every time. She is under six months, or close to it. That is what the vet said when I took her for a vaccine and puppy check-up. She didn't make a sound in the exam room. My young children, of course, made the most noise in the building. At least I had calm Chloe.
